I continue to clean up my sewing room, especially the piles of miscellaneous fabric. The strippy quilt is going to SC Quilts for Kids. This once was a pile of less than width of fabric strips, 2 1/2 inches wide. There are enough strips together for half of another top. I made my DH a fabric covered rope mat for Christmas. His is on the left. Mine on the right has been used for quite a few months. These are quite handy when your plate or bowl is hot. My new side saddle computer came in the mail today. She is all set up and I quilted a pet quilt (really a big block) to make sure everything was as it should be. I had this pinned to another quilt,.... and thought a sleeve would not take long. So I finished sewing the sleeve on last night. I have been crazy busy today and not had to the chance to hang it. When I found out how big the older brother was... So I went digging in the top bin. This top now quilted is appropriate for a nine year old. Brennan is going to love it. First - thanks to all who sent well wishes. I really appreciated all of them.I have a baby shower to attend this week and have completed the jacobs ladder for the baby. She is due in January. She has a brother and I try to include sibblings so they don't feel left out. In between the time I left yesterday morning and the time DH got home from work (about an hour) we were robbed. The solid wood door and dead bolt did its job and held securely. This top I'm calling 3/4 (three quarters). I started it in a quild workshop. I did have some problems in attaching the borders. I did what I could and now am just happy it is a flimsy. My accomplishment for the last 2 weeks.A baby quilt for a little girl due to be born in the next 2 weeks.The bright star quilt will go to my massage therapist who was in a bad car accident in October. This past weekend I attended the Quilters of SC annual fall retreat held at White Oak, Winnsboro, SC.I took a doll making class all weekend with teacher Rita Tompkins. Our scottish friends arrived yesterday in Charlotte. After leaving the airport we headed for Capt Steves in Fort Mill SC for a wonderful dinner. Dave joined us as well. Last weekends trip to the Arts & Craft Show had some goodies that just had go home with me. The glass fired platter is AWESOME. Blogger has had its way with the photo order. Rrrr.I recently found a booklet (given to me) and loved the quilt on the cover. After studying it I engineered the pattern. Using my accuquilt go cutter I cut the star points and assembled them. The corner stone pieces of the star block came from the already assembled bag. So sewing the block is FAST. For the snow ball block I cut 9.5 inch squares.

Last weekend Dee and I re-arranged my bedroom/quilt room. I did this so that I could stand at the back of the quilt machine and use paper pantos. In a matter of hours all had been moved (furniture mover pads are wonderful) into new positions. The only thing not put back in was a night stand which will go in the garage. The heart quilt is for a co-worker who is having a little girl in April. I saw this pattern on this blogand was so taken I just had to make me one. I used my go cutter for the star points. This is a fun quilt and goes really fast. In an attempt to reduce the leader ender bag of four patches, I put together this top. I only had to cut the blue triangles and the white triangles. Looking at the picture here I can see a easier way to make this top. Do it diagonally and then you would only have to cut the side triangles. That would be a whole lot easier and it would (I think) come out "better". I'll store this thought for

Here are the latest pet quilts I took to the animal hospital in town. Many ofus wear clarks shoes for comfort and durability. In the last year I have had 2 or 3 pairs of shoes where the upper (leather) part starts to separate from the sole. Four of us made blocks, we each had 2 fabrics and selected the other fabric from our "stash". Margaret put the blocks together with sashing. Yesterday we picked out a backing from my stash. We selected the brandywine feather panto, some bright yellow/green quilt thread and the machine magically quilted. I have one remaining pass to do this morning. I won these fabric labels from Nat Thanks Nat. I don't know what I will do with them, but I'm sure I'll think of something. I quilted this for a friend, who made it for her Mother. Here are the wedding blocks I made this past weekend under the direction/instruction of Margaret. They had lots of set in seams. I completed my five and they look ok. The experience taught me to slow down a little more and pay attention. Thanks Margaret. You're a good instructor. Frog Quilter

Last weekend my goal was to finish putting the borders on the star quilt, load and quilt. Well I got almost done. It's looking real good. I'm using a panto called Brandywine; lots of feathers.
