His is on the left. Mine on the right has been used for quite a few months. These are quite handy when your plate or bowl is hot. My new side saddle computer came in the mail today. She is all set up and I quilted a pet quilt (really a big block) to make sure everything was as it should be. So I went digging in the top bin. This top now quilted is appropriate for a nine year old. Brennan is going to love it. The solid wood door and dead bolt did its job and held securely. BUT the door frame did not. It had to take a quite a few strong kicks to break down the door frame. Shattered is a good word to describe the door frame. Rrrr.I recently found a booklet (given to me) and loved the quilt on the cover. After studying it I engineered the pattern. Using my accuquilt go cutter I cut the star points and assembled them. The corner stone pieces of the star block came from the already assembled bag. So sewing the block is FAST. I did this so that I could stand at the back of the quilt machine and use paper pantos. In a matter of hours all had been moved (furniture mover pads are wonderful) into new positions. The only thing not put back in was a night stand which will go in the garage. I have to say that I am really enjoying my space. Won't be long and they will be finished.  There are still many blocks to complete but these are the biggest, aside from borders.These quilt blocks are very satisfying.  I rotate from doing animals to getting back to finishing the green tree. I experimented... using a 2 patch (each 2.5 inches) and then sewing a 4.5 inch piece of the dark fabric a heart is formed when set on point.  The white fabric has hearts on it.  Was a fun, fast quilt...Second quilt is a Love Quilt for a guild.  I never got lost as my new lights were wonderful. I used my go cutter for the star points.  This is a fun quilt and goes really fast.  I just love the secondary pattern (circles).  I'm using colors for the stars that read solid with BRIGHT COLOR. I put the red one together while I was at Houston.  (I needed a sewing fix on the machine).  They are now finished and ready to be shipped.  I added the cute kitties as it was too plain and needed a little focus. I only had to cut the blue triangles and the white triangles.  Looking at the picture here I can see a easier way to make this top.  Do it diagonally and then you would only have to cut the side triangles.  That would be a whole lot easier and it would (I think) come out "better". It's the KOA in Cherokee NC. Pictures are two days showing my catch. The last day I caught a 23 in Rainbow Trout. How fun.... He'll bake up real nice in my oven. Yum!I never got my limit (of 10) but the size of some of the fish was great.
